There is a free tier and a Pro tier. Here is exactly where the line falls.
Reviewing words you have already learned is unlimited on the free tier, and it will stay that way. What Pro pays for is breadth: every drill instead of one, courses instead of none, and as many new cards a day as you can stand.
Cancel in the app. Nothing you have learned is ever taken away.
No card and no end date. Enough to build the habit and find out whether the drills suit the way you study.

A classroom is a cohort with a named instructor: live sessions, homework somebody marks, and a person who tells you when your German is wrong. Seats are priced per classroom and a seat carries Pro for as long as the cohort runs.

Pro includes 3 attempts each billing period, and they do not roll over. If you want more in the fortnight before the Prüfung, buy a pack. Bought attempts never expire, because you paid cash for them.
Transfer the amount, upload the slip, and an admin matches it by hand. You have 48 hours before the payment expires and you have to start it again. No card is involved anywhere, which is also why a transfer buys a fixed term rather than a subscription.
Handled by our merchant of record, who is the name that appears on your statement. Which rails are live depends on your currency, and the app tells you at checkout rather than here.
- Is the free tier a trial?
- No. It has no end date, no card and no countdown. The caps in the table above are the caps a free account has on day one and on day four hundred.
- What happens when Pro runs out?
- It stops, and that is all it does. Your cards, your schedule, your notes and your history stay exactly where they are, and the free caps apply again to new material. Reviews of everything you have already learned keep working, unlimited, as they always did.
- Does it renew on its own?
- It depends how you paid. A card subscription renews until you cancel it, and you cancel it in the app. An Indonesian bank transfer holds no card at all, so it is a fixed term that simply ends on its date and you pay again if you want to carry on. The app shows you which of the two you have.
- Can I get a refund?
- Yes, against the original payment, done by hand by an admin rather than by a form. Your payment history and its reference are on the billing page in the app.
- I have had a Lingio account for a while and it was free.
- Then your account already knows what it is entitled to and until when. Sign in and open the billing page: it reads the entitlement itself rather than guessing from your plan, so it is the only honest answer to this question.
- Is the dictionary behind the paywall?
- No, and it is not going to be. Every German word page on lingio.app is public, free, and readable without an account.
- Do you test Hören, Schreiben or Sprechen?
- Not yet. Lingio trains vocabulary, grammar and Lesen, and the mock exams cover Lesen only. If your weakest module is listening or speaking, Pro will not fix that, and we would rather say so on the pricing page than after you have paid.
